A Gilded Beauty

I re-mounted Yote and hurried him up the steep mountainside, taking care to steer him away from the rocks this time, a fall could be fatal, we were miles from the nearest vet. On the other side of the hill I could hear Danny shouting, not for me but to the shiny golden horse we had chased up here.

“Settle down, easy!” I slowed Yote to a light jog as we topped the rise and I looked into the clearing, the horse was amazing, a perfect golden coat with milk chocolate points and a gold tipped mane and tail. Yote seemed impressed as well.

Its sides heaved from the chase and sweat made its coat shine in the sunlight. It was quite, so I led Yote closer and readied a rope to join Danny‘s other rope that already secured the horse‘s neck. At the slightest signs of movement of the strange stallion to its right, the horse reared and I took the opportunity to throw the rope over its head. After the horse was fully secured I got a better look at it, it was a champagne filly, and a beautiful one at that!

Oh wow, what a magnificent specimen of a champagne Quarter Horse! We believe this little lady was sired by Cherokee because she’s a champagne dun, the dorsal stripe is a dead giveaway!
